Robert Raymond Vales

Robert Raymond Vales, of Crafton, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord at age 73 on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 in Orlando, Florida at Florida Hospital, where he had been waiting to undergo triple bypass surgery. Born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 1,1944, Robert spent the majority of his life in Pittsburgh and the last 4 years of his life in Jupiter, Florida. Robert was proud to have been the owner of the former La Fleur Bed & Breakfast in Crafton, honored to be a retired City of Pittsburgh firefighter of Engine Company 32 and pleased to have been a licensed, Pennsylvania commercial real estate broker for nearly 40 years.He was preceded in death by Pauline Thom (mother), Louise Hirsch (sister), Anthony Alberico (nephew), and Peyton Wyburn (great-nephew).Married for 47 years, he is survived by his beautiful wife, Audrey Mae Vales (Lippai) from McKeesport, PA, his beloved son, Robert Alexander (Denise) Vales and their 4 children, Justin, Brianna, Jaden, and Julianna, as well as, his daughter, Shara (Nicholas) Mader, brother, Dr. William (Charlene) Vales, brother, James Vales of California, brother-in-law, Richard (Nancy) Lippai, and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.Affectionately known as, "Bobby," Robert's sense of humor was a highlight to many. He was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers, baseball, tennis, cooking, property renovation, and the Bible. While in Pittsburgh, Robert attended the former Full Gospel Church of Carnegie, as well as South Hills Assembly of God Church and Allegheny Center Alliance Church. He was a hands-on dad and regular Mr. Fix-It with the most innovative spirit. His passing came as a shock to many, and he will forever be remembered.The viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. 15205.The funeral service will be led by Dr. William Vales (brother) on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00-11:45 A.M. at Schepner-McDermott Funeral Home, 165 Noble Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. 15205 with the burial to immediately follow at Chartiers Cemetery, 801 Noblestown Road, Carnegie, PA. 15106.
