Patricia L Smith

Patricia L. Smith, age 67, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Beloved mother of Nicholas R. and Kristen (nee: McSurdy) Smith. Loving daughter of the late Ralph A. and Anna (Schultz) Smith; Loving Sister-in-law to the late Frank Ivancza and French Francis. Patricia is survived by sisters and brothers: Elaine Ivacza, Michael (Jan) Smith, Joanne Francis, Daniel (Stacy) Smith, Julia Gilles, and Donna Washabaugh; also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Patricia loved nothing more than spending time with her son, whether teaching him how to skate, spending time at the rink or spending years being the “ultimate hockey mom”. Patricia spent more than 25 years in teaching, the large majority being with the students she loved at Mt. Pleasant and was just beginning to experience the joys of retirement. She loved taking the train across PA to visit her son, daughter-in- law and fur grandbabies, Moose & Gunther anytime she could. In her free time, she loved sewing and crafting and sharing her handmade wares, going to the casino and sitting outside enjoying the sun and people watching. Patricia was always looking for the next best read and loved visiting bookstores and sharing her love of reading with friends and family. Patricia will forever be loved and missed but is now reunited with her parents and beloved Beagle Sam. Relatives and friends received Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4 to 8 P.M at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Pittsburgh (Crafton) PA 15205 where a Funeral Prayer will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00AM.
