Harry Wockley Obituary

WOCKLEY, HARRY JOSEPHAge 84, of Pekin, passed away at 2:57 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born September 9, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, to William H. and Grace Anna (Sye) Wockley. He married Margaret Mae Baehr on September 17, 1955, in Pittsburgh, PA. She survives. Also surviving is one son, David M. (Cheri) Wockley of Pekin; one grandson, Joel M.L. Wockley of Pekin; and one brother, Thomas J. (Carol) Wockley of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William S. and Robert C. Wockley. Harry served in the US Army in Korea. He had worked in sales for a total of 34 years in industrial tooling in the Midwest. He retired from Verizon in 1997 with 25 years of service and nine years with Greenleaf Corp. Harry was a former member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He enjoyed woodworking, RVing, and helping his grandson follow his dreams. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pekin. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at PRESTON - HANLEY FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Additional services will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, at SCHEPNER - MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, in Crafton, PA. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at which time a Service will follow. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Ln., Pekin, IL 61554.
