SUTCAVAGE (Boyle)Helen A.Age 85, of Crafton, peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Walter Sutcavage; loving mother of Walter (Pamela) Sutcavage, Thomas (Vicki) Sutcavage, Stephen (Helen) Sutcavage, Suann (Sutcavage) Davison (Greg) and the late USMC Corporal Paul Sutcavage; survived by 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Paul, Sean, Ryan, Sophia, Sasha, Sonja, Alisha, Matthew, Taylor and Laura. Helen was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The daughter of the late Michael and Susan Bonner Boyle and was proud to be a coal miner's daughter. She is survived by her sisters, Peggy Scoville and Rose Ryan and brother Hugh Boyle. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers Bridgetta Bigler, Patricia Koch, John Boyle, Charles Boyle, James Boyle, Sarah Boyle, Nancy Boyle; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren. Especially playing card games where she was known to cheat like crazy for herself or for the youngest player. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage and never let an opportunity pass to remind anyone without roots in the Emerald Isle that the Irish were truly God's chosen people. This created some interesting discussions with her Lithuanian husband over the years. Helen was a devout Catholic with an encyclopedia like knowledge of which saint you needed to pray to in order to get the big guy upstairs to listen depending on the situation. She also could tell you the mass schedule of any church in the Pittsburgh diocese in case you "inadvertently" missed a Sunday or holy day. Like any good Irish mother she was schooled in the art of guilt and not at all shy about telling you what she thought you needed to hear. Helen's children and grandchildren have no doubt that she earned her ticket into heaven and will be watching over us along with our Dad. We are now heartened to know that there is now a new saint who will intercede on our behalf with the big guy. We could all use the help.Relatives and friends received Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the SCHEPNER- McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 165 Noble Ave., Crafton.
