PLATTSJOSEPH L.Age 87, formerly of Crafton, peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018. Fiance' of the late Doris (McCauley) Kunkle; special and beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe was a Korean War veteran with the US Army, an excellent cook with various hotels, statewide and Canada, for over 40 years, and finally retired as a correctional officer. Past master of Layfayette lodge #652, past monarch of Islam Grotto also a member of the Franklin/St. John/Trinity Lodge #221 FA & M. Also active with the Syria Shriner Clown Unit. Joe will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the SCHEPNER-MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Crafton, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. A private burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date. A masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday.
