Joan Marie (Kinsella) Georgetson

Joan Marie (Kinsella) Georgetson, age 76, of Crystal River, FL, formerly of Crafton, PA, peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Georgetson.  Life companion of James Deller. Loving mother of Christopher (Katalina) Georgetson, Nicole Ortiz (Denny Cirrincione), and Alexandra “Andy” (Buddy) Blystone; grandmother of Gabrielle Georgetson (Scott Rush), John “Jack” Georgetson, Levi Blystone, Nick Cirrincione, Isaac Ortiz, and Eli Ortiz.  Sister of Frances Kinsella (Marba Jean), Diane Williams (the late Tom Williams), and John Kinsella (Margaret); also survived by many nieces and nephews and her turtle kids.  Joan and her late husband were owners of the former Georgetson's Flower Shop in Oakland where she was known for her fabulous fruit baskets for every occasion.  She and her companion, Jim, were snowbirds who enjoyed wintering in Florida before they decided to move there full time.  She was dedicated to all her children and grandchildren's activities all of her life.  Joan enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking, gardening, motorcycle riding, the beach, and the sunshine on her face.  She loved turtles and wrote articles and various other pieces regarding different species of turtles and their habitats with a special emphasis on sea turtles and their protection. She was also a member of the Goldwing chapter and wrote articles for them as well.  Joan was truly a beautiful person inside and out, with a beautiful smile and generous heart, loved by all who knew her.  

Relatives and friends received Wednesday 6-8 PM and Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue Crafton, where the funeral service will be held Friday at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
