M. Geraldine Adreon

M. Geraldine (Gerri) Adreon, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023.  Wife of David L. Hunter; mother of Charles (Nancy) Adreon; grandmother of Colin, Darcy, Keegan and Katie.  Stepmother to Brandon (LuAnn) Hunter and Kent (Elizabeth) Hunter, step-grandmother of Veronica, Drew, Noah, Zoe, Amelia, and Rosalie; sister of Joseph L. Adreon, Carol (Gary) Oaks, William (Cookie) Adreon, Frank Adreon and the late Tina Kuntz and Patricia McCue. Dear niece of the late Martha and James Gillespie, and niece and cousin to the Charles and Ella Mae Gillespie family.  Gerry loved Elvis and his music, going to casinos, and was an avid reader.  Later in life she earned a black belt in Tang Soo Do karate as well as a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature.  Gerri worked at the Duquesne University School of Nursing for over 30 years and spoke of many fond memories of the students and professors.  Relatives and friends received Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 2-8 PM at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Crafton, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 or (www.chp.edu/about/donate)
