MICHAEL G. KOCZAN
Age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the VA Hospital in Oakland, with family members by his side. Husband of the late Loretta DeRose Koczan. Beloved and devoted companion of 38 years to Judy Gusky; loving and proud father of Mary Koczan, Paula Koczan, Robert Koczan, and the late Michael Koczan; adopted father of Joe Gusky. His greatest joy was being able to spend time with each of his seven grandchildren throughout his and their lives. Brother and best friend of Jeanette Koczan; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Martha Vozar, Mary Ann "Sister Lucy", James and Joe (surviving spouse Anita) Koczan. Mike was a veteran with the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War, and was a lifetime member and past commander of the Green Tree American Legion Post #823. He also worked as an electrician for over 40 years at J&L and LTV Steel. Visitation TUESDAY ONLY 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 165 Noble Ave., Crafton, where the Blessing Service will be held 12 noon Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Due to CDC regulations, masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. Burial will be private with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Mike's Life to be announced at a later date.
