Rev. Donald R. Bischof

Age 74, went peacefully home to the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2021 after a brief battle with Covid-19.  Fr. Don was born in Pittsburgh on May 30 1946, the son of the late Raymond and Cecilia (Ehlers) Bischof. Beloved brother of Elaine (Ronald) Vent and the late Richard Bischof.  Uncle of Laura (Scott) Decker, Marcy (Chuck) Trexler, Jeffrey (Geraldine) Vent, Kristi Vent, Cindi (James) Harper, Dana (Andy) Kowalchuk, and Renee Garcia.  Great-uncle to ten neices and six nephews. Fr. Don grew up in the Pittsburgh area and attended St. Canice Catholic School, Duquesne University and St. Vincent's Seminary in Latrobe.  Fr. Don was ordained in 1983 at St. Paul's Cathedral.  He held his first Mass at St. Canice Catholic Church.  Fr. Don served the Lord in multiple parishes including: St. Henry's, Pgh.; North American Martyrs, Monroeville; St. Philip Church, Crafton; Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Beaver Falls; and St. John Parish, Coylesville. Don was known for his sense of humor and booming laughter.  He enjoyed watching a good movie and was a fan of the Peanuts characters. He was a man of many words and always willing to spend time with family and anyone who just wanted to chat, just don't ask him for directions. Due to Current health restrictions, there will be NO Viewing. Family and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Bishop David Zubik (masks and social distancing are required) Thursday, 10 a.m. in St. Philip Catholic Church, Crafton.
