Ronald R. "Boots" Wolbert, age 95, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Ingram, peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Carole (Latimer) Wolbert. Loving father of Glenna (Thomas) Carter, Shirley (Richard) Clark, Rhonda (Dale) Rogers, Bonnie Downs, and the late infant Penny Wolbert. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; brother of the late Robert Wolbert and Donis Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Boots served in the US Navy during WWII aboard a ICM Landing Craft Carrier where his assignment was driving the ICM Landing Crafts. He was a member of the former Ingram Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the F&AM Dallas Lodge 231. He helped design the first nuclear reactor on the USS Nautilus while working for Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory and had several patents with Westinghouse. Boots was an avid collector of clocks and trains and rebuilt player pianos. He also enjoyed flying gasoline model planes and fishing. Relatives and friends received Monday from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Crafton where the Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
