Thomas W. Freiss

Thomas W. Freiss, age 74, of Oakwood, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, March 10, 2023.  Beloved husband of 40 years to Patricia L. (Threnhauser) Freiss.  Loving father of Melissa (Zubby) Ellis, Melinda (Tony) Ferrante, and Tammy (Brian) Rebholz; Pap Pap of Belle, Tommy, and Emerson Ellis, Gianna, Lorenzo, Luciano, and Arabella Ferrante, and Madison Rebholz; brother of William (Linda) Freiss and David (Janice) Freiss; brother-in-law of Carol (Thomas) Conroy; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Mae Freiss and brother-in-law George Threnhauser. Tom served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a retired City of Pittsburgh Police Officer. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, archery, and fishing.  He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.  Relatives and friends received Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 1-8 PM at SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Pittsburgh (Crafton) PA 15205, where a funeral service will be held at 8 PM.  Interment Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 1 PM in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA with full military honors.
