A man of faith, Tom was a longtime member of St. Columbkille Church and most recently, St. Malachy Church. Tom was a personable, good natured, and kind-hearted man who had never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He devoted his life to providing a loving and caring home to his late wife of 62 years, Bernadine "Bernie," and his five children. His love of family, friends, sports and conversation were the hallmarks of his life. Pap Pap enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events and was the biggest fan of their accomplishments in life. In addition, he cherished yearly trips to the beach with his family and playing with his great-grandchildren. Tom was also very proud of his Croatian heritage and enjoyed spending his summer weekends commiserating with family and friends at weekly picnics held at the Croatian Center in Schuetzen Park, Millvale, PA. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Tom leaves behind five children, Thomas Garbin (Sharon), Paul Garbin (Dorian), Daniel Garbin (Ann "Prin"), Lisa Leonard (Jim), and Christopher Garbin (Diane); 12 grandchildren, Pamela Tobias (Matt), Tom Garbin (Erin), Ryan Garbin (Gina), Steve Garbin, Matt Garbin, Megan Leonard, Alex Leonard, Luke Garbin, Andrew Leonard, Anna Leonard, David Leonard, and Jack Garbin; five great-grandchildren, Avery Tobias, Owen Tobias, Gino Garbin, Benjamin Garbin, and Alex Garbin; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Garbin, and Catherine Garbin (step-mother); his sister, Agnes Tapler and Margie Hilliah (step-sister).
