Thomas Charles Wettach, age 81, of Providence Point in Scott Township and long-time resident of Thornburg, died Saturday September 23, 2023. Born on October 8, 1941 to Alice Regina Sauers and William Wettach in Sewickley, Tom studied physics at Washington & Jefferson College and graduated with honors from University of North Carolina School of Law. Tom practiced intellectual property law at Reed Smith for 20 years and more recently at Cohen & Grigsby. He was involved in the BMW Car Club of America activities and built BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, now Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Tom was an avid world traveler and hobbyist photographer.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Bette Jane “BJ” Wettach. Loving father of Christine Trebilcock (Thomas) and Heidi Wettach (Greg Walters), and grandfather of Trey and Neel. He is survived by his brother William “Bill” J. Wettach and preceded in death by his brother Donald J. Wettach.
His gentle and affable nature as well as his keen curiosity and humor made him a cherished colleague, mentor, husband, family member and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. There will be no visitation or viewing per his wishes.
